I will be having Tumescent Liposuction on my chin under local anesthetic soon. I am a little concerned about the lidocaine and epinephrine used in the procedure. My dentist stopped using lidocaine with epinephrine on me because it makes my heart race. Will this be an issue with the liposuction procedure? Should I be concerned?
Answer: Effect of lidocaine with epinephrine Hi, jatroAlthough your heart rate can increase with epinephrine, tumescent solution is different from the lidocaine with epinephrine. Tumescent solution is more diluted and it is injected into subcutaneous (fatty) tissue. Please make sure that your plastic surgeon is experienced and board-certified. Best regards.

Answer: Tumescent Liposuction safety The amount of epinephrine ( adrenaline) typically used in Tumescent Liposuction will not usually significantly raise a person's heart rate although some individuals are very sensitive to this substance. We do a through medical screening and pre operative evaluation for any prospective Tumescent Liposuction patients to make sure the procedure will be safe for that individual.
