Could a pre surgery epidural steroid injection put me at risk for bleeding our is it safe?

I personally don't think you have anything to worry about. These injections do not create systemic blood levels. Nevertheless this is something you should check with your own surgeon.

I would verify with the doctor doing the injection whether or not you are allowed to have other surgeries afterward.

I would discuss whether you should get the epidural steroid injection with both your pain specialist (or whoever does your injections) and your plastic surgeon.  I also think it is important that they talk to each other and develop a cohesive unified plan as you are preparing for elective surgery that is still safe and effective for you. Getting all your doctors "on the same page" is really the best plan.  Good luck! 

This should definitely be discussed with your
board-certified plastic surgeon in conjunction with the doctor performing the
injection and also should be mentioned to the anesthesiologist doing your
surgery. Since injections of this type
can have various effects, it is important that you have your surgeon in the

Prior to surgery you need to discuss this with the physician that manages your pain, the anesthesia department, and your Plastic Surgeon.  All doctors need to be on the same page when your health is involved.  Good communication with your surgeon is very important for a good surgery outcome.
