A dead flesh odor may be a sign of necrosis or infection. Your plastic surgeon can assess this and rule out any cellulitis, abscess or fat necrosis. when there is a non infected open wound without necrosis: Silver Sulfadiazine cream, Dakins and saline soaks can be wonderful in minimizing bacterial load and shortening healing time.
