I had my butt implants done in Ohio which is 8 hrs from me. Everything was fine till 9 weeks and I had what I would call like a baby soft spot on my left incision and it kept getting bigger to size of my thumb well went back to dr she cut the soft skin off and restitched well a week later it started opening so I flew back and she restitched again and within 3 days it's to the size of a thumb now she says to come back and be cleaned in hospital and restitched what are other thoughts hopeless

It sounds like you're having Extrusion of your implant and is that case they may have to be removed. I recommend you go back and forth with your surgeon again. Best of luck

It sounds like you  might have bigger problems. If the implant is exposed or draining, you likely will need to remove the implant.

Trying to simply close a separated intergluteal incision wound after buttock implants that has failed to work twice suggests deeper problems that just at the skin level. You did not say whether your buttock implants were intramuscular or subfascial. I would be suspicious that in the depth of this wound lies the implant or a seroma cavity and this is why the wound is not healing properly. You need to open up the incision more thoroughly and find and deal with the real source of the problem. Undoubtably the source of the problem is the implant which is the only reason normal tissues do not heal months after an implant has been placed. Whether this surgery will involve implant repositioning or implant removal no one can say until the wound is opened and the source of the problem identified.

Once an implant is exposed, the salvage rate is low.  More often than not, removal is the only answer.

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. I can understand your concerns. My best advice is to follow up closely with your surgeon, until the issue is resolved. Afterwards, if you have concerns about your final appearance, you should seek a second opinion.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
