For several years I noticed the corners of my mouth have progressively gotten worse. They are turned down at the corners. What's are some ways, temporary or permanent, that will help? Also, would botox or lip filler have any effect?

Answer: Downturned Corners of Mouth Thank you for your question! The corners of the mouth can progressively get worse due to a number of reasons. Generally, as we age we lose volume and collagen which creates a sagging appearance. Collagen building procedures such as Thermage and Sculptra can help add that collagen back in to create a more lifted/tight appearance. You may also be losing volume in your cheeks where filler such as Voluma can be placed to help lift the upper face. Botox below the corners of the mouth can also help relax the muscle and lift the corners of the mouth more. Filler can also be placed in the folds and marionette lines(corners of mouth) to also help lift that area up and make it appear to be less down-turned. Hope this helps!

Answer: Fillers can change a sad mouth to a happy face Fillers can be used in the corners of the moth to change a sad frowning mouth to a neutral state. Be sure that you see a physician that has a lot of experience with this as this is a tricky area to do a good job with .
