Will filler in my lower lip help give it more protrusion and support for my top lip? (Photo)

Question

I was recommended jaw surgery for my overbite but it's too expensive and the healing process is scary. So i'm looking into having sliding genioplasty vertical and horizontal lengthening. I know this won't fix my lower lip ratio , my top lip sticks out is it possible to fix that with filler to get the photoshopped results i've provided?

Hi there, Based on the pictures it is difficult to definitively say if you are a lip filler candidate. What I would suggest talking to your aesthetic provider about is chin filler such as Radiesse, Restylane or Juvederm. Based on your pictures it does look like you would be a candidate for that. Your aesthetic provider can look at your ratios and give you a better answer at an in person consult. Good luck!

If you need Jaw advancement surgery then you need jaw advancement surgery.

Your chin is already projecting with a noticeable labiomental fold or angle.

Forward augmentation of your chin will create a witches chin appearance which is incorrect and undesirable.

Fillers of your lips will give you lip volume. Your doctor gave you the correct diagnosis and correct treatment option.

When the problem bothers you enough to have the procedure you’ll be ready to have jaw advancement surgery.

Doing procedures that don’t address the primary problem are probably going to lead to unfavorable outcomes.
