Will filler/botox improve my facial symmetry? (Photos)

This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Since jaw surgery can alter your facial tissue, it may be best to wait until after surgery and consult with both your surgeon and a board-certified dermatologist. An expert dermatologist can create a custom plan to treat various areas of the face with different dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane.

First off, all humans have a slightly asymmetrical face. This is a normal and beautiful human feature. If you use a computer to manipulate an attractive person's face to make both sides mirror images of each other, they don't look as attractive. That being said, getting closer to symmetric typically improves overall aesthetics. Yes, an experienced injector can use Botox slightly differently between the sides of your face to create more symmetry in your brows and around your eyes, and filler placed strategically can help create a more symmetric appearance to your face. Humans in general are not perfectly symmetrical, just about every person has some degree of asymmetry.As for will botox or filler fix your facial asymmetry, both products can make improvement to some asymmetry, depending on the areas that you would like to see balanced. Hi Catcaity, The first thing to consider is the jaw surgery. If you are having any major jaw surgery, this may alter the appearance of the soft tissue of your face (especially under your chin). I would discuss this with the surgeon performing your jaw surgery. Cheek or malar augmentation is a great treatment and would not be greatly affected by a lower jaw surgery. Hard to know if you would benefit from botox unless we know the specific reason / treatment area your provider is trying to address. Remember it is normal to be asymmetric, we all are! Best.

Hello, thanks for your question! I do believe this is a good recommendation. It appears the right side of your face has more volume. You could use cheek filler (we use Voluma in our office) to lift the left side of your face to make it more symmetrical to the right. Lip filler can absolutely give you more of a plump lip, but this is more of a personal choice. You have a nice size lip at baseline. I hope this helps, have a great day!

Botox and fillers are great tools to help enhance facial contours, improve symmetry, and give a fresher look. Your face looks very nice (and symmetrical) now. I feel that some cheek fillers would certainly make them closer in symmetry. I do not see the need for Botox and chin (or neck) liposuction I am not sold on either. A physical exam and interview would answer many more questions.
