I am 4 months post liposuction and I have irregularities on my stomach. It hardens when I sit for a long time but after compression it flattens out again. Do I need revision or will this hardness heal with time

Answer: Unhappy with liposuction result fibrosis is generally a term laypeople use for excessive score tissue formation but in context to liposuction it really represents aggressive treatmeant with too much fat removed leaving people with proportionately more scar tissue and less fat. Four months is fairly close in regards to having final results. In other words don't expect your results to change much by waiting further. The uneven contour is a direct reflection on how the treatment was done. It is not because you have excessive scar tissue it's simply from the liposuction done in an uneven fashion. Revision is an option but I will warn you that if your plastic surgeon turned a smooth contour into what you have now imagine how difficult it is to take a bumpy contour and turn it smooth. Perhaps that does not make sense to someone who doesn't perform liposuction but in general it is much more difficult to correct bad outcomes from liposuction that it is to do good liposuction in the first place. The good news is that it appears you were not aggressively over treated which should leave room for at least some improvements with a revision procedure. Considering your provider left you with this outcome you may want to consider a second opinion. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing the best providers for this procedure. Finding the best provider is in itself for more difficult than people think. This is because of skewed and biased information from providers self promoting. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
