Would it be safe to do fat transplant to the breast while I am having a seroma removed?

Question

I underwent a total capsulectomy and mastopexy in January 2020. In November 2020 I found a large lump in my breast that turned out to be a seroma. I am scheduled to have the seroma removed this December 2021. Would it be safe to do fat transplant to the breast while I am having the seroma removed? Seroma placement is above the muscle. I have also considered getting very small implants back in but I do really like being implant free!

it might be better to fully heal after seroma removal and then get fat transfer. Fat transfer breast augmentation is a viable alternative for women who desire larger breasts without the use of implants. Fat transfer is also widely used in reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also be very effective in correcting the size and shape of the breasts due to genetic problems such as tuberous breast or Poland Syndrome, two conditions that look like misshapen or underdeveloped breasts.In addition, the following scenarios are also reason to consider breast fat grafting:• If you have chest areas that appear creased and sunken• If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers• If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate the natural curve of your breasts• To fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implantsYou should discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure your surgeon understands your concerns and your breast augmentation goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

If it is only a small serome it can be removed quit easily and the surrounding tissue can be fillied with fat, wich is alyways a good option in such cases! Small implants also come with the risk of Seroma and capsula contraction. Ask you doctor what he would suggest for you.

No, your breast needs have settled down before getting any fat, or what is transferred, may not survive as well.

Personally I would not do fat transfer in conjunction with Seroma surgery.
