I’m a 62 year old woman and I’d like to know which is the best filler for above the lip lines and which one last the longest? Also what does it cost to have done ?
Answer: Lip lift not fillers I believe you are a poor candidate for fillers. You would benefit from a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The cost is $3,000 and is done in the office under local anesthesia. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Lip lines options Thank you Suzie for your photos.I would like to start by saying that it is not about the best filler or the longest filler but mostly about the proper filler, properly injected. You will need more than 1 ml to correct the volume loss but once you achieve the result you were hoping for, you will just need to maintain in with very little touch up every 6-12 months. The duration of fillers varies from patient to patient and usually depends on factors like type of filler, amount used, area injected and the metabolism.Based on your photos, there is a significant volume loss around your mouth causing the lines to show. In my opinion to achieve a balanced look, it is advised to have filler injected into the lips ( both upper and lower, lip lines and around the mouth) I would utilize the combination of fillers like Restylane Silk, Restylane Kysse and Restylane Refyne . I suggest spacing the injections into 2-3 sessions to allow for easier healing time. The most of the treatment depends on the skills of the injector and the type and the amount of product to be used. Your concern requires a highly skilled injector to correct. The actual number of syringes to be used will vary based on the comfort level of the injector and your budget.Have a beautiful day and good luck in this journey. Dr.Anna Avaliani, NYC

Answer: Lip Lines? There are several good options out there for perioral lines. My personal favorites are Restylane Refyne, Belotero and RHA Redensity. Longevity varies per person and product but generally you can expect to treat every 6-12 months. Using neuromodulators like Botox or Dysport around the mouth can also complement and extend the longevity of the filler. Cost will vary widely depending on area of the country you live in and provider. Typical pricing in our area is $600-750 per syringe.

Answer: Sometimes, a combination of treatments like dermal fillers and Botox can provide more comprehensive results for perioral lines Choosing the right dermal filler for treating vertical lip lines requires careful consideration of the specific needs and characteristics of each individual. Here are some factors to consider when selecting a filler for this purpose: Type of Filler: Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: HA fillers like Juvéderm and Restylane are commonly used for smoker's lines. They are versatile and offer natural-looking results. They can be easily adjusted or dissolved if necessary. Depth of Wrinkles: For superficial or fine lines, a thinner, less viscous filler like Juvéderm Volbella or Restylane Refyne may be suitable. For deeper lines, a thicker filler such as Juvéderm Vollure or Restylane Defyne might be more effective. Duration of Results: Consider how long you want the results to last. HA fillers generally last 6-12 months. Provider Expertise: Choose a skilled and experienced healthcare provider who is familiar with using fillers to treat smoker's lines. The provider's expertise is crucial for achieving natural-looking results. Desired Aesthetic Outcome: Share your aesthetic goals and concerns with your provider. They can help you choose a filler that aligns with your expectations. Safety and Product Approval: Combination Treatments: Sometimes, a combination of treatments like dermal fillers and Botox can provide more comprehensive results for perioral lines. It's important to have a thorough consultation with a qualified and experienced healthcare provider. During the consultation, your provider will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and recommend the most appropriate filler or combination of treatments for your specific needs. Keep in mind that individual results may vary, so it's essential to have realistic expectations regarding the outcome of the treatment. Good Luck!.....Lena Berlin
