If you have a compression garment from your surgery, it is reasonable to wear it during the daytime to control swelling. Hot and cold are not a good idea. Sometimes swelling at the lower part of the abdomen just above the incision line occurs about this time and it will go away after a while. It is pretty normal, but check in with your surgeon if you have strong concerns to be sure that you have not develped a puddle (called a seroma), or some other problem.
Swelling after surgery will naturally go away on its own. SItting in a jacuzzi or using ice packs is not a good idea at this point. Best also to review with your surgeon for specifics related to your surgery.

I would discuss this issue with your surgeon. Your garment should be snug, but not hurting "so MUCH." Your garment may be too tight. Not all surgeons use garments, so ask your surgeon about their specific recommendations.
