If you have a compression garment from your surgery, it is reasonable to wear it during the daytime to control swelling. Hot and cold are not a good idea. Sometimes swelling at the lower part of the abdomen just above the incision line occurs about this time and it will go away after a while. It is pretty normal, but check in with your surgeon if you have strong concerns to be sure that you have not develped a puddle (called a seroma), or some other problem.
Swelling after surgery will naturally go away on its own. SItting in a jacuzzi or using ice packs is not a good idea at this point. Best also to review with your surgeon for specifics related to your surgery.
