You will have to ask your plastic surgeon as the responses will vary. I prefer to pen a "fit note" which focuses on what my patients can do rather than what they cannot. Patients do not always need to be fully recovered to return to work and sometimes returning to work aids in recovery. I encourage my patients to maintain good relations with their employers by communicating regarding their health issues, treatment, and recovery.
