Answer: FTM gender affirming top surgery Breast augmentation refers to placing an implant to increase the size of the breast, which is the opposite of your goal of masculization of your chest. There are a few options for FTM gender affirming procedures and the one that is used depends on your current anatomy and your goals for the procedure. Double incision, free nipple graft procedures are the most common that I perform for my FTM patients. In this procedure, the breast is removed and the nipple and areola, which are usually reduced in size to give a male appearance, are placed as a skin graft. Another option is a keyhole procedure in which the nipple and areola remain attached to underlying tissue for the blood supply, this can leave sensation in tact, but is limited to men who have minimal sagging. A periareolar procedure is performed through an incision just through the areola and are only used in very small breasts. Find a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience with gender affirming procedures, and consider getting more than one opinion as this is an important part of your transition and you need to be comfortable with your decision.

Answer: FTM TOP Surgery Hi dirk, theking,Thanks for the post. I think you searched the wrong keywords. For FTM Top surgery there are 2 distinct procedures, Double incision and keyhole. Try typing in those keywords and you will see plenty of examples of photos that will match what you need. Basically you need double incision if you have larger breasts, excess skin, and low nipple positions, and keyhole if you have smaller breasts with good skin tone and normal nipple positions. Sincerely,Dr. Dadvand

Answer: Term for FTM top surgery Thanks for the inquiry. Breast augmentation is the term for male to female top surgery. Try searching for double incision (with free nipple grafts), buttonhole incision, or keyhole incision for FTM surgery. Each surgery is an option and it depends on the shape of your native breasts which option is best for you. Good luck, Dr. Luong

Answer: FTM Top Surgery All of my FTM patients request complete removal of their breasts and a flat, masculine chest. It is often termed "top surgery." This is absolutely NOT breast augmentation, which is actually breast enlargement -- and is used for my MTF patients.Basically, depending upon confirmation by physical examination, if you are a B cup or smaller, then the operation can be performed with minimal scars. Larger breasts would require a double incision type of procedure -- and there are some variations of this.Would recommend you consult several surgeons who are conversant with these procedures. For further information, please check out my website and photo gallery captioned below.Good luck!Elliot W. Jacobs, MDNew York City
