Implant outcome and preop size?

Question

In your opinion, would a 400cc implant look larger on someone starting with a B cup, or would the same size/projection implant look larger on someone with more tissue to start with, a D cup? Assuming their anatomy (height, weight, frame) was otherwise the same.

The choice of implant size depends on biometrics as well as your native breast size and shape. I use a biometric calculation to provide patients with more insight into their desired sizes.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

The size is more related to the height, weight, and frame of the woman. So B cup women look great with 400 cc's, and in some it is too large.  I would not recommend a D cup women going up to 400 cc's because of such a large and heavy breast she would have to carry.

When selecting an implant there are several factors to consider besides volume.  Decisions must also be made on type, shape, style, and projection.  A 400cc low profile implant will look and fit a patient differently than a 400cc high profile implant.  This will also impact the results.  The best way to select an implant is through a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.  During this visit measurements will be taken of your breasts and your goals for surgery will be discussed.  Together you can select the implant that's best for you.

Hi and welcome to our forum!
Your D cup patient has more tissue to start with, therefore the breast (breast + implant) will be larger. I don't know how someone can determine how much of the breast is "patient" and how much is "implant" by sight alone.
In general, a specific size breast implant will appear larger in a smaller patient.

Hello and thanks for your question. The best size of the implants should be decided according to the measurements of the chest body structure and etc. There is not perfect shape and size of the breast and everything has to be customized according to the patient's unique body structure. I strongly suggested you to contact with the Board Certified Surgeon to have the consultation and assessment.
