I have rhiboplastry 4 weeks ago. Yesterday me and my boyfriend were kissing and he accidentally squished the tip when he accidentally hit my nose not to hard but still hit it when he turned his head and squished the tip of my nose a bit. I was wondering if this will ruin results.
Answer: Bump It is unlikely that your head bump caused any damage to your new nose if you haven't noticed any changes since then. However, it is always best to err on the safe side and let your surgeon know what happened. You may want to go in for an examination. Make sure to follow up with your surgeon throughout your recovery. Best regards.Jaime Perez, MDPlastic Surgery Center of Tampa

Answer: Bumping the Nose After Rhinoplasty Hi and thanks for the question. It would be impossible to say with certainty whether you damaged any of the work done during your rhinoplasty without examining your nose and knowing what was done during the surgery. I'd recommend getting in to see your surgeon. If your nose still looks straight after being bumped and your breathing hasn't changed, there may be nothing to worry about. However, it would probably be best to be on the safe side. A bump to the tip of the nose after surgery can certainly cause some temporary pain and swelling, so ice may be useful for you. I generally tell patients to be careful with their noses for approximately 6-8 weeks after surgery, as it takes around that long for the nasal bones to heal. Contact sports such as basketball and football should be avoided during this time. After 6-8 weeks the nose is essentially as strong (or stronger) than it was prior to surgery. All the best,Dr. Mehta

Answer: Kissing and rhinoplasty It is unlikely at this point that light pushing will cause a problem. If you feel something is wrong then you should see your surgeon to be evaluated.

Answer: Activities after rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. After a month, the result from a rhinoplasty has "fused" somewhat and it takes significant trauma to change the result. It is unlikely that kissing caused a permanent deformity, but if it looks to have shifted you should call your surgeon and be seen. Often if something shifts with trauma, it can be shifted back with gentle manipulation by your surgeon. In general, avoid pressure on your nose for at least 6 weeks. Best of luck.
