Is a second round of BBL safe and will it result in more scarring?

The main deciding factor in having a 2nd round is whether you have enough fat available. You need to wait at least 3 months for buttock healing to take place, and 6 months for the donor sites to heal (if the harvest is going to be done from same previous areas). On examination, your plastic surgeon should be able to tell if you have enough fat available. 

You will usually need at least 3 months before getting a revision.  The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon.  The percentage of fat survival in the BBL the second time should be about the same. 

Are you sure that your BBL fat didn't take. If it didn't take, you don't want to repeat the same procedure. Also looks like you maybe too heavy on the upper buttocks lower flanks region. You maybe an excellent candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) revision.
