4 weeks post BBL, inner thigh fat graft for past lipo issues, bodytite and scar revision. My BBL is lovely, but everything else is not. My left leg was the better and now has a bulge, my right thigh is lumpy and irregular and the fat grafts are hardish, I can feel linear swelling from my groin to where my scar is. Will this soften to supple fat? The scars are okay, I was left with a large spot next to one and my right scar revision is so tight it cuts into the fat part of my low thigh creating a depression. Im devastated. Tell me this is fixable, or that it will get better? Just help.
Answer: Will this bulge, lumps and irregular fat grafts get better? (Photos) At one month post op, it is still too early to see the final results of your liposuction surgery to your abdomen, thigh, and leg. Contour deformities after liposuction are uncommmon and can be somewhat unpredictable as scarring is uniquely individual. The areas can be improved with a combination of fat grafting and liposuction, if necessary, in several months.

Answer: BBL results Dear Sharky14,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Liposuction and Brazilian Buttock Liposuction Post Operative Care: Information Dear Ms. Sharky14, Thank you for your story. I understand how you feel, what your concerns are and sense your angst. First, I would make a appointment with the Plastic Surgeon who performed your Lipo and BBL. Since he/she knows exactly what was done and thus give you the best advice. Unfortunately, without a actual examination I can only talk in general terms. However I hope you find the following helpful: -In general it takes several weeks to months for the skin to soften and the edema fluid absorb. I suggest purchasing a mechanical massaging device, massage oil and have someone massage your irregularities several times a day. -Ultrasound treatments are also often helpful to reduce irregularities -Do you have fluid collection? A seroma or hematoma can cause this. A MRI, Ultrasound or CT scan would diagnosis such. -How much fat was injected ? There is always a certain amount of fat that will be absorbed. I would recommend waiting a minimum of 6 months for all the swelling to resolve and the normal inflammation to resolve before any revisions. Again long term you may have isolated fluid collections such as a seroma and would have one of the above diagnostic tests performed prior to a revision. Revision to decrease the undesired fat injected areas includes: -Non surgical: Ultrashape Power or Cool Sculpting -Surgical: liposuction or direct excision Contour depressions can be treated with fat injection. I trust you have chosen a experienced Plastic Surgeon who is Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery). Bottom line: Time is on your side and please go back to your Plastic Surgeon for his/her advice. My best wishes, Dr. R. A. Hardesty, MD, FACS Diplomate and Certified by the Am. Answer: Swelling and firm spots are expected after liposuction and BBL, and they improve over several weeks. Thanks for your questions about BBL and liposuction. It is not uncommon to have some irregular lumpy bumpy spots the first several weeks after liposuction and the area treated should continue to improve. You should expect your scars to soften and a nicer improved shape will develop. Stay patient and keep in contact with your plastic surgeon.Best Wishes

Answer: Lumps following liposuction Lumps can be minimized using Vaser liposuction and Renuvion minimally invasive scar less skin tightening. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or Facetime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
