Prolonged redness after CO2. Is this still normal? Can something help with it? (photos)

It is going to be 2 months now since I had CO2 treatment with CO2RE from Candela. I had mostly CO2Mid and for deeper scars the Fusion mode. I had it done on the T zone and then on a few spots. I am becoming anxious about the results, since the redness is still visible and also some texture from the laser. Is this normal? Can something help?

My regular followers know all too well that I have been cautioning them for many years to exercise a healthy dose of "buyer beware" when considering expensive, aggressive treatments, such as CO2 laser. Much like dermabrasion, C02 is an aggressive abrading procedure that is well known for engendering prolonged and persistent post-treatment downtimes and run the risk for persistent erythema and dyspigmentation problems. Sorry. You would be wise to consult with a board certified cosmetic dermatologist to discuss possible treatment options that can include the use of topical anti-inflammatory agents, topical vasoconstrictors, tranexamic acid and even oral paroxetine, if deemed necessary. The addition of professionally performed microneedling combined with the aforementioned topicals can not only enhance efficacy, but can also address the textural issues mentioned. Earlier intervention to suppress the erythema can help to minimize subsequent postinflammatory hyperpigmentation, which can likewise be difficult to treat. Hope this helps and best of luck.
