Do I need an upper eyelid revision surgery? (Photo)

Question

Upper eyelid surgery 8 months ago. 8 months of sudden allergic blepharitis, dry eye, lid skin irritation and damage, eye pain. I am on my second steroids drops course prescribed by qualified eye doctors. On top of this, I have an extremely surprised look and hollow sunken upper eyes. I look older than before the op. Surgeon keeps dismissing me which makes me think he is unable to manage the consequences of surgery. Can any doctor in London UK pls help? Do I need revision surgery? Thanks

Ptosis is a condition where the upper eyelids are droopy and can lead to a hollowed upper eyelid appearance after blepharoplasty. Ptosis repair can be performed through the same incision that was used for your blepharoplasty, and I believe it would address your concerns the best. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

If you have any photos of your eyes before your surgery, look to see if there was any hollowing then. Although steroid drops can cause fat atrophy, there is only a small concentration of active steroid in the drops.Some surgeons remove fat during surgery. it is worth speaking to your surgeon to see if this happened. Hollowing can be addressed with filler or fat grafting. The results can be un-predicable in terms of longevity of contour improvement as well as patient satisfaction.

It appears that your scar is higher than it should be. Also, they may have taken out too much fat at the time of your blepharoplasty and that is what is giving you the sunken eye look. This is very difficult to correct but the scar can be corrected easily.
