I am really unhappy with one side of my nose because there’s cartilage which sticks out. To me it makes my nose look upturned which I really wanted to avoid. One side is straight but one side is not. I would appreciate any advice and recommendations.
Answer: Revision Rhinoplasty? Thanks lucyjardine32 for your question! A revision rhinoplasty can effectively address the issue of prominent cartilage. The purpose of this surgery is to specifically address flaws or issues from a prior rhinoplasty. You could look for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with a lot of expertise performing revision rhinoplasty so they can properly evaluate the particular cartilage problem and create a customized surgical strategy. It is possible to reconstruct the nose and provide the cartilage more support by using cartilage grafts, which are often taken from the patient's septum, ear, or rib. To obtain a more symmetrical appearance and reduce the prominence of the cartilage, the surgeon will carefully position the graft in the specific case of need. Furthermore, The surgeon may refine the shape and position of the existing cartilage through precise sculpting and repositioning techniques.By modifying the cartilage on both sides, the surgeon can attempt to balance the look if one side of the nose is more noticeable than the other. This can be done with specific suturing. Speaking with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon is the best method to find the best course of action for your unique situation. They may evaluate your unique circumstances, talk with you about your objectives, and suggest the best surgical strategy. As a triple Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and experienced rhinoplasty surgeon, I specialize in revision rhinoplasty. This complex procedure requires meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of facial and nasal anatomy. I am committed to correcting imperfections and restoring both the form and function of the nose. My philospphy is to listen carefully to the goals and desirers of my patients with a focus on patient satisfaction, I utilize advanced techniques to achieve natural-looking and long-lasting results. Hope this was helpful! Best wishes, Dr Ali Sajjadian TRIPLE Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: What Your Surgeon Should Do If You're Unhappy With Your Result I'm sorry that your experience with rhinoplasty surgery produced an unsatisfactory result. My best advice is to speak, in person, with your plastic surgeon. Discuss what bothers you, and ask your surgeon how much experience he or she has with revision surgery. This conversation should be open and frank. If you detect that your surgeon isn't listening to you, or is defensive, or doesn't have experience with revision rhinoplasty, please seek a second opinion. As plastic surgeons, we should always want our patients to be happy; this should be the driving force behind all our focus and efforts. It's legitimate for your surgeon to honestly say they aren't experience in revision rhinoplasty surgery if they don't have the skills to perform this surgery. In my practice, I perform many revision-rhinoplasty surgeries when patients have had bad experiences elsewhere, and the skills required far exceed what it takes to perform primary rhinoplasty. Please seek an expert.

Answer: Please consider re-asking your question with better photography. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to make a judgment about revision rhinoplasty from a single view of your nose. If you are concerned that there is more prominent tip cartilage on the right compared to your left, it would be helpful to show us both sides of your nasal tip. Sometimes, nasal tip asymmetries may be improved permanently with microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections. This would all depend on your examination. I hope this is helpful. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
