Eyelids naturally heavy & sty may have left with with ptosis - best minimal procedure? (Photos)

Question

I've always had hypertrophied/triple excess skin on eyelids anyway but I've just recently had a stye and now I think i’m left with ptosis. It’s 95% gone but i’m afraid the ptosis will remain. The infected eye, the eyelid is not only bigger but darker and a bit red… what’s the best minimal procedure or based on my eyelids being naturally heavy should I have eyelid surgery anyway (blepharoplasty)?

Hello, it looks like the lid creases are asymmetric which may be giving the appearance of ptosis on one side. This may or may not be due to the presence of a stye that may have inflamed and stretched the skin over time. Hard to assess without looking in person but highly encourage a specialized evaluation with an oculoplastic surgeon for best results.

Although these photos are not perfect, it is very likely that you have eyelid ptosis. In person, consultation with a board certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon is recommended.

It's difficult to tell from the photographs presented, but you do have a symmetrical creases on your upper lids. An – person examination is going to be required to make a determination about how best to proceed. The asymmetrical skin and creases can be improved with a cosmetic blepharoplasty, while ptosis repair requires tightening, one or both of the muscles that open the eyelids.
