Scar removal methods and risks - is laser the best option or will excision be necessary? (Photo)

I have a small scar on my cheek from a mole removal (shave excision) which is atrpohic and makes me a bit self conscious when seeing it in certain lights. It is in no way a bad scar and most people probably don’t notice it, but I do and my want to improve this is purely for cosmetic reasons. My question is, would laser be the best treatment for this type of scar and also have the least amount of risk involved? or should I potentially consider having the scar excised and stitched so it is a neat linear line. My biggest concern with this method is there is a risk of the new scar ending up worse than my current one. What are the chances this new excision could become hypertrophic on a cheek. I am a white male, 30 years old.
