My current doctor won't be able to do both at the same time as she believes that purely removing fat from the bottom of my arm won't help much because the top of my arm has a fat pocket which needs addressing. I'm 29, female, 5'3, around 65-68kg, around 150. Still currently losing weight before my breast reduction and lipo in order to maintain results.
Answer: Safety of Breast Reduction Following Arm Vaser Liposuction Thank you for your question about the safety of undergoing a breast reduction 2 to 3 weeks after having Vaser Liposuction on your arms. Generally, it is safe, provided that your lab results are within normal range. Before proceeding with a breast reduction, I would recommend repeating lab tests, as your blood chemistry could have changed after the Vaser Liposuction. Your EKG and chest x-ray should still be valid. You might also consider combining your planned arm surgery with the breast reduction if it involves a brachioplasty or arm lift. But overall, it is safe to undergo breast reduction 2 to 3 weeks after Vaser Liposuction on your arms, given normal lab results. Thank you again for your question. I hope this information is helpful to you. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Liposuction of arms It's important to trust and listen to your doctor's advice regarding any medical procedures you may be considering. It sounds like your doctor is suggesting that addressing both the bottom and top of your arm may be necessary to achieve the desired results from liposuction. It's also great to hear that you are working towards losing weight before your procedure, as maintaining a healthy weight can help optimize the results of liposuction and other cosmetic procedures. Before undergoing any procedure, it's important to have a thorough consultation with your doctor to discuss your goals, any potential risks or complications, and to ensure that you have a clear understanding of what to expect during and after the procedure. Best regards, Dr. Mark Tseng

Answer: Considering Breast Reduction Shortly After Arm Vaser Liposuction: Is It Safe? It's essential to prioritize your health and well-being during any cosmetic procedures. I recommend discussing your specific situation with both your Vaser Liposuction and breast reduction surgeons. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history and current health status. It's common for surgeons to schedule procedures separately to ensure optimal results and reduce potential risks. Your doctors will consider factors like recovery time, potential complications, and overall safety. Make sure to communicate openly with both surgeons about your goals, timeline, and any weight loss plans. They can guide you on the best course of action to achieve the results you desire while prioritizing your health. Wishing you a smooth and successful journey on your cosmetic enhancement endeavors.

Answer: Multiple procedures You should probably discuss your surgical plan with both providers. There’s no inherent reason that you need to wait any specific amount of time between having the two procedures. Potential drawbacks of doing surgery shortly after arm Liposuction may include issues with placing blood pressure cuffs on your arm which may be uncomfortable and potential swelling and edema potentially creating difficulty in placing an IV. Blood pressure can be measured from the leg but it’s less accurate. It’s possible your plastic surgeon it’s OK with having a surgical procedure three weeks after the arm liposuction. You should ask them specifically. I answered a previous question about our Liposuction. I suggest being very selective when it comes to this procedure and vetting multiple plastic surgeons before committing to having surgery. Do not rush decisions that will permanently change your body for the rest of your life. The choice of providers is paramount and minimizing issues and dissatisfaction after surgery. You should be absolutely certain you were in the hands of a plastic surgeon who has sufficient skills and experience by demonstrating enough before and after pictures that you have a very clear idea exactly what your results will look like. If not then slow down and schedule more consultations. A thorough consultation should also have included medical history and your decision to have other surgical procedures. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
