I had a surgical labiplasty in 2017 to correct physical discomfort. It helped, but in the last 6 months I have become uncomfortable again due to slightly sagging skin. I want to avoid surgery again as I had a bad experience and was left with nerve pain and scar tissue. I saw that Inmode make a device called Aviva, an RF probe like Accutite, designed for the labia minora. Does anyone know if this is a good alternative? Or any other alternatives? Many thanks I appreciate your advice.
Answer: What are the options for a non-surgical revison of the labia? HI Anon, It is difficult to answer your question without a picture of the sagging skin that you have. Aviva is designed to provide some tightening, but if you have a lot of excessive skin in the area, this radiofrequency tightening technique might not be enough to give you the result that you wish. Another issue is how much scarring do you already have? RF techniques can cause scarring as well. I would advise you to see several surgeons in y our area who have experience with both surgical revisions and RF techniques to give you the best advice. Best Wishes and Good Luck. Answer: Labiaplasty complication As the inventor and innovator of the wedge technique in 1994, I reconstruct many women who have had labia reductions by other surgeons, both wedge and trimming techniques. You probably had a trimming labiaplasty, but I need to see photos to determine the cause and correction. A reconstruction which removes painful scars can significantly improve your appearance and comfort. The reconstruction is much more difficult than a primary labiaplasty and should be done by a plastic surgeon with extensive experience in labia reconstruction. I published the first and most extensive paper on labia reconstruction in the prestigious journal "Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery" about ten years ago. You may need various reconstructive techniques to give you a good appearance. You can have a much better appearance by a very skilled reconstructive labiaplasty surgery. Approximately 40% of the surgeries I perform are revisions of other surgeons' labiaplasties. The Aviva will not help you. You only get one good chance to reconstruct you, so be patient and ask a lot of questions. Gary J. Alter, M.D. Beverly Hills, CA - Manhattan, NY

Answer: What are my options for non-surgical revision to labiaplasty? Inmode Aviva? Hello,It is not possible to perform labiaplasty operations with a technique other than surgery. There is no adipose tissue in labium minors. If there was adipose tissue, it could be reduced with some devices. I have not used this device and have no experience. I think this way. if you talk to people who use this device. it will be better for you.

Answer: Will RF meaningfully shrink labia minora, and if so- for how long..? This is marketing with no data other than short-term anecdotal data. Sure, try it, but there are no guarantees and probably no adverse side effects, other than the ones on your pocketbook (sic.) You are in the U.K. You might consult with Dr. Alexandros Bader in London for his opinion... Regards, Michael P Goodman, MD, Davis, CA, USA
