What could happen if I get lip filler when I could have glandular fever?

Question

I'm due to have lip fillers next Saturday (Juvederm) but i have been unwell for the past 2 weeks with my throat suspected tonsillitis and suffering with my sinuses due to my hay fever allergies. I was given antibiotics for my throat and is using a steroid spray for my nose but i am still feeling unwell. It could now possibly be glandular fever, if so would i still be able to attend my appointment or would it not be wise to have fillers done at this time? What could happen if i did.  Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well.  It is best to visit with your primary doctor if your symptoms are not improving.  I encourage you to postpone your filler treatment until you are once again well.

While fillers will not harm you in any way, I would wait until you've recovered to let your body heal. You technically could get the fillers without any issues, but it sounds like you are very sick. I would hold off to avoid additional discomfort.

Any cosmetic treatment should be avoided while a person is sick in any way, shape or form. You can really have horrendous results if you receive your filler during any process of an infective nature. In addition you can get other people infected as well. Wait until you’re well and then proceed as planned. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
