Dear chloenight, A superficial search finds Sculptra (PLLA) and Lanluma (microparticles of PLGA – PLLA) to be similar if not the same particle. Lanluma does not appear to be FDA approved for use yet in the US. Both stimulate a inflammatory response ending with macrophage and fibroblast stimulation of collagen synthesis to correct for subcutaneous fat loss and subcutaneous fibrous and skin firming. The composition of Lanuma and Sculptra is identical. The only thing that’s different is the amount of the PLLA powder in the bottle. They come in different sizes and of course they price differently as well. The average price comes out to about the same for the same amount of product. Your consultant was correct that reconstitution of Sculptra does not have to be done ahead of time. Sculptra's latest FDA approval study showed no difference in molecular structure with hydration immediately before or 72 hours before. Additionally, there was not any increase in adverse outcomes...

This is a great question. In my experience you will get more volume and better results when you do three procedures, 2 months apart with 15 vials than doing one treatment with 45 vials. Although this has not been studied I believe there is a limit as to how much collagen any particular area can...
