28, black female, what can I do about my swollen/droopy eyelids? (Photos)

Question

Hi, I am a 28 year old black female and I have swollen/ droopy eyelids that I believe are genetic because they’ve always been that way. I requested a consultation at Signature clinic in the uk for a Blepharoplasty but the doctor requested that I pinch my eye and said I didn’t have extra skin, it’s just swollen and therefore the procedure would be a waste. I was thinking of a non surgical Blepharoplasty also. Is there any procedure I can do to “flatten” my eyelid?

Thank you for sharing your question and posting your photos. You don’t have enough skin to remove but you do have fat that can be taken out. Find another oculoplastic surgeon to examine you.

I suggest you have a few consultations with oculoplastic surgeon’s or plastic surgeons, who have sufficient experience with correcting unilateral eyelid ptosis.
The position of your left eyelid can be set slightly higher to match the one on the right with or without exercising skin, and orbicularus muscle.
Not all plastic surgeons have experience with this procedure so find somebody who does a lot of my eyelid surgery or specializes in this type of procedure.
Consider consulting with ocular plastic surgeons, who do more specialized eyelid procedures.
