Should I add a facial fat transfer for my facelift?

I’m 53 and am having a face lift with upper Blepharoplasty I want a full facelift so that I can get improvement of the nasolabial folds and marionettes, as well as tackling my neck and jowels. Once a year, I have filler in my nasolabial area. I am very undecided about adding a fat transfer to the procedure. I’m a perfectionist and worry about looking overfilled for months on end, and potentially disliking the results, which I understand are difficult to rectify, unlike fillers.

For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. I suggest you talk to your surgeon about the ideas that you have it. Fat transfer is not an equal alternative to using fillers. Especially in small defined areas like the nasal labial fold. A facelift can the nasal labial fold if surgeons tightened the underlying sub muscular up and erotic system. Also called SMAS I suggest looking at newer as before, and after pictures from your providers office and pay close attention to what the nasolabial fold looks like in the after pictures. Ask them to show you examples of patients who had a facelift with fat transfer done in conjunction. An experience plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. I generally recommend patients of multiple in person consultations before committing to permanent irreversible operations. During each consultation ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial characteristics to your own.
Fat transfer is tricky, inherently unpredictable, and can be unforgiving if not done correctly.
Some providers, incorporate grafted fat to all facelifts and some do not. Anytime a patient is having multiple procedures. They need to vet the provider for each of the procedure. They are signing up for.
Personally, I think fillers are far superior for defined volume, augmentation, such as the nasal labial folds. Fat transfer tends to work better for diffuse overall volume.
