Hello, I’ve always thought my face was quite unattractive but I struggle to determine what the main culprit. I personally dislike my eyes, but what can be done about them? I can provide more pictures if needed.
Answer: Rhinoplasty and chin implant I recommend a rhinoplasty and chin implant. The chin implant will balance your face more. The nose can be made more refined. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Facial aesthetics Facial aesthetics are primarily determined by facial bone structure. This is especially true for young people. In your case, I think more projection of your maxilla would help balance, your face a little more. This can be done with the number of procedures. The easiest and most forgiving is working with fillers, but this is a temporary solution which can make it costly in the long-term, but is very beneficial if you’re unhappy with the outcome. Alternative procedures include grafting fat, which is potentially unpredictable. Implants used to be popular years ago, but it’s less popular today. There’s also craniofacial surgery and at advancing the maxilla. Different providers will have different opinions, depending on their background and who you go to. It’s not a bad idea to get a formal assessment from a craniofacial surgeon. These are generally oral surgeons with more advanced training, but can also include plastic surgeons who’ve done the specialty fellowship training. Getting quality assessment and will give you a better understanding of facial aesthetic fundamentals, regardless of what you choose to do in regards to procedures. If you go to a med spa and all they have available is fillers then that’s what they’re going to offer you. There is a fair amount of subjectivity with this kind of work, so expect different providers to have different opinions regarding facial aesthetics and treatment options. There is no one single best solution. The one thing that is universally true is that selecting the most talented providers is always going to increase the chance of long-term patient satisfaction. Things can be done well and things can be done poorly, regardless of treatment option. Finding the best providers is not at all easy or straightforward. For example, if you look at the website of Dr. David Marie MD in San Francisco, you’ll see some of the best work done using on the fillers. This website doesn’t allow me to include website links so you’ll have to look it up. His work is some of the best I’ve ever seen. Those type of results are unlikely if you randomly pick someone who offers the same treatments. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
