Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Dimples and dents after BBL surgery can be a result of a number of things: prior cellulite, fat necrosis or contour irregularities. Each patient is different.
Sometimes dead fat can create dents, and sometimes it can create a large unsightly lump. A fat transfer procedure, if done in a very even and purposeful manner, can slightly improve these areas. However, it is not a true treatment for most; and the improvement is not substantial in most. The reason for this is that many of these dimples are largely produced buy underlying connective tissue tendrils, which restrict the expansion of the skin at that point. Whether this is called cellulite or not is really immaterial as it has the same problem at its rudiments.
Dear Passionate315742,fat necrosis and poor surgical technique are the main reasons for dimples after fat transfer. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
For the most part cellulite is what causes uneven skin contours on the buttocks. This condition is typically made worse from fat transfer so patients who have severe cellulite should either be aware that this could become worse or avoid having a BBL procedure.Cellulite is caused by connective tissue that anchors the skin to the underlying muscle fascia. It’s typically present in areas that can tolerate great pressure like the back of the thighs, lower in her buttocks, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The connective tissue bands act to pull in the skin like buttons on tufted furniture.Eating fat isn’t the healthiest thing and will not help with cellulite.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Natural often is closely related to "proportional". Patients who go for the exaggerated, oversized fat transfer will seem unnatural because they lose the proportion for their particular frame. If done carefully with your goals in mine, the procedure can...
Thank you for the question. Based on your photos, you are a good candidate for tummy tuck (will repair your muscle diastasis and flatten your abdomen), 360 liposuction and BBL, which will give you the best result. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified,...
This is a question for the plastic surgeon who performs your BBL as plastic surgeon preferences for types of compression garments and length of wear vary. I recommend that my patients wear an adjustable abdominal compression garment for six weeks. This compression garment does not cover the...
This seems fairly unlikely. It sounds like there were other issues surrounding your surgery that resulted in a less than ideal outcome.
I don't think it would. The real killer of fat after BBL is prolonged pressure - usually from sitting or laying. A routine amount of bending over should not be a problem.
You would need to discuss this your PCP and also have a pre-op appointment with your anesthesiologist. While, I would assume you can get the surgery but might need it done in a hospital setting with significantly larger resources
