Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my post. As you can see in the picture, my lips are very thin, and I really dislike the way they are shaped, particularly the upper lip. I feel like my cupid's bow is not shaped nicely. Would it be possible to kind of reshape my lips with fillers or botox? I also thought about getting more filler in the lower lip as I am a male and have a long face, and having small lips does not help but make my chin even longer...
Answer: Enhancing Lip Shape and Fullness with Fillers and Botox Hello, Thank you for your question and for sharing your photo. There are several non-surgical options to enhance the shape and fullness of your lips, including the use of fillers and Botox. Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid-based fillers, such as Juvederm or Restylane, can add volume to both your upper and lower lips. These fillers can help define your cupid's bow, enhance the lip borders, and create a more balanced appearance. Lip Flip with Botox: A lip flip involves injecting small amounts of Botox into the muscles around the upper lip. This can help the upper lip to roll slightly outward, giving the appearance of a fuller lip without adding significant volume. Combination Treatment: In some cases, a combination of fillers and Botox can provide the best results. Fillers can add volume and shape, while Botox can enhance the lip's natural curvature. It's important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has experience with lip augmentation. They can assess your facial structure and discuss the best treatment plan tailored to your goals.

Answer: Lip fillers Lip fillers are a great option to add volume and shape the lips. The great thing about fillers is that you can begin slowly and build up to a look that you are wanting. Also if HA fillers are used, they can be dissolved if you decide the result is not for you. See an expert injector near you to learn more.

Answer: Lip fillers, options, and possibilities Lip fillers may be a reasonable option if you desire more lip volume. I think it’s going to be difficult to change the inherit shape of your lips using fillers. Individuals who have thin lips to start with should only have conservative amounts of filler used in order to maintain a natural appearance. This is probably more important in men than in women. It is also important to maintain a natural lip volume ratio between the upper and lower lips. I generally strive to maintain the same lip volume ratio when doing fillers. This usually means adding slightly more volume to the lower lip than the upper lip since most individuals have a lower lip that’s larger than the upper lip. Regardless of what the ratio is, it should be maintained when adding fillers. Providers may have very different views on the topic and I recommend asking providers to show you examples of their work before having any treatment. I think over treating the upper lip on individuals with thin lips is one of the biggest telltale signs of badly done work. I suggest looking for providers who stay on the conservative side for these type of treatments. You can always have more filler added at a later date if needed. Quality work is demonstrated by maintaining a natural appearance without clear evidence of having had intervention. There’s no shortage of individuals who have an obvious appearance of interventionAnyone who has to look of having had fillers is in my opinion, evidence of poor outcomes. Quality outcomes are based on getting results without looking like you had a treatment. Sometimes easier said than done, but this is what we should all be striving for. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
