Could sleeping with my arms above head affect the result of my breast implant revision?

Question

I am planning on getting breast implant replacement and a mini breast lift. I sleep with my arms above my head. It isn't something I can control as I do it whilst I'm asleep and wake up that way. Could this negatively impact my results?

I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors.It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.

Depending upon your incisions, it could pull if your arms were elevated too high. Try sleeping in a reclined position.

In my opinion, there are really only two variables that determine plastic surgery outcomes.
This is true for almost every plastic surgery procedure.
The first variable is the patient’s candidacy for the procedure and the second variable is the skill and experience of the provider.
Whenever there are problems or quality outcomes there almost exclusively based on these two variables.
 I don’t ever consider sleeping after surgery though. I generally don’t want my patients to sleep under abdomen in a prone position after breast surgery.
Personally, I don’t think arm position is going to have an impact if the procedure is done correctly.
The correct person to ask would be your provider.
