Breast discomfort/pain 5 years after surgery

Question

5.5 years ago I had breast implants done and pretty soon after the procedure the left breast bottomed out. This hasn’t caused too many issues over the years, but sometimes it would get uncomfortable if it wasn’t supported. 3.5 weeks ago I started getting pain in my left breast and I’m getting concerned, the breast itself is soft and not uncomfortable, so I don’t think it’s capsular contracture. It feels like it’s underneath the implant, like an ache or throbbing. ECG has been done and no issues.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Please go back to your surgeon or another to be examined. If your implant is dropping more, it could be causing the pain. To fix this will require surgery. For now, wear o good supporting bra.

Breast pain can be attributed to many things including hormonal changes, muscle strain, capsular contracture, etc.  It is best to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation to determine what may be the underlying cause and how best to treat it.
