Hi, I’ve previously had a breast lift (no implants) which I was very happy with. Since having this I’ve lost weight and the tissue above my nipples has become ‘loose’, although the nipple has not sagged. Would a breast augmentation fill this area and create volume? I’m concerned that the implant would exacerbate the issue and cause sagging. I’m well aware that any implant can cause sagging. What positioning of the implant would work best to achieve the desired upper fullness? Thanks.
Answer: Creating upper pole fullness Yes, an implant can be used to create upper pole fullness. Generally the higher the profile of the implant, the more upper pole fullness you will achieve. Implants can be placed above or below the muscle to create this fullness.Depending on how much upper pole volume you are hoping to achieve, fat transfer may be another option for you.

Answer: Breast augmentation after weight loss It's difficult to provide a recommendation without an exam or photos. Typically breast implants do a great job of restoring upper pole fullness and replacing lost volume from weight loss. My patients generally prefer the implant to be placed beneath the muscle. This gives a more natural look, disguises the upper portion of the implant, and decreases the likelihood of capsular contracture. I encourage you to visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation to learn more.

Answer: Breast Implant to Fill Empty Breasts Post Lift In most patients in your situation, a breast implant will restore volume and shape. Since your breasts required a lift previously, your tissues may be a little more susceptible to sagging over time. However, that is hard to predict without an in-person examination. The best thing to do is to have a few consultations with board certified plastic surgeons in your area and see what will work best for you.

Answer: Implants You could go with implants placed behind the muscle for more upper breast fullness and choose a size that is not too large.

Answer: Yes, breast augmentation will create volume: Placement-under muscle for a natural look Only significant weight change or the milk of pregnancy will exacerbate sagging-not implants. I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author.
