Is it possible to get bigger thighs with BBL surgery?

I am currently wanting to get a BBL but I would want to also get bigger thighs with this. Therefore, is it possible to get bigger thighs through fat transfer? Can surgeons transfer fat from my own body and then put it in my thighs or inject the fat into my thighs?

Hello and thank you for your question. I have performed fat transfer frequently to outer thighs because it creates a more feminine, natural physique with a smoother transition from hips to the thighs so that there is not an overly large buttocks above thinner legs and everything is in nice proportion. Generally speaking, significant improvement in body contour can be achieved with combination of liposuction and fat grafting. BBL typicaly includes liposuction of abdomen, flanks and lower back (or any additional areas like thighs, arms, knees, neck) and fat transfer to buttocks and hips for shape and volume change. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, BBl doesn't include transfer to thighs. However, it is possible to transfer fat to the desired area. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Proportions as well as smoothness of transitions are two of the most important factors in determining aesthetic outcome in liposuction and Brazilian buttlifts (BBLs). This is a question of proportion between your buttocks and hips and your thighs and legs. A BBL performed by a board certified PS who has a wealth of experience can enhance your overall proportions by improving balance between your upper and lower body. The key in many of these cases is to remove as much fat from the areas of excess like the abdomen, sides, lower back, and bra rolls to reduce these larger dimensions. The fat harvested can then be transferred to the buttocks and hips to help balance this further. Finally, the size of the thighs can sometimes be increased with fat as well to improve overall balance.

If you are a good candidate (less than 5L of fat) for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), then it is possible to get bigger thighs through a fat transfer to the hips or buttocks depending on your desired outcome.

The optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as \o process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. I viewed the BBL as a body contouring procedure not as a procedure to just create a large buttock.

I generally try to create a feminine S-curve that cause almost from the knees to the shoulder and most of the backside.

I typically add fat to the outer thigh on almost all my BBL procedures because that’s the buttocks becomes larger generally so does the thigh.

I see plenty of cases or plastic surgeons do the opposite and liposuction the otter thigh or back of the thigh to make the buttocks look bigger (I think?) with horrendous results often causing patients to seek revisions.

The way I do these procedures not only can you graft fat to the thigh but often you should. It depends on case to case but women who have SpongeBob looking bodies with thin thighs cannot have a large buttocks unless the thigh is proportionately made to match.

The amount of fat that can survive fat transfer is related to the amount of quality host tissue to support the graft.  Afton those with thin or smaller size have also small amounts of subcutaneous fat or insufficient host tissue to have a dramatic impact but often enough the balance the BBL.

I recommend schedule a multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who seem to do a lot of the BBL procedures. Ask each one if they have experience with this.

Another important point is that patient positioning during this procedure has a big impact on how the results look. I do my BBL grafting with patients on their sides.  May sound strange for a buttocks procedure but the way I see this procedure has must more to do with S curves than getting a big butt.

The ask curves are best displayed when people are laying pencil diving straight on their side.

I also do these procedures with local anesthesia so my patients are awake and can easily hold these positions while doing the procedure.

There’s a lot of variations and results vary all over the place when it comes to Liposuction and fat transfer. Delivering consistent high-quality results for both Liposuction and fat transfer procedures is far more difficult than people believe. Patients really need to work hard at finding the most experienced and talented providers for these procedures.

The majority of providers are not delivering great results in my opinion.

It is then injected into the thighs, thus increasing their fullness.
