I have sickle cell trait and 45 degree scoliosis. Can I still get a BBL?

Hi so I’m 21 and I have the sickle cell trait And I have a 45 degree scoliosis however it’s still considered moderate as they have confirmed there is no need for operation I also have an IUS Mirena coil but if needed to I would remove it for the procedure I wanted to know if I would still be able to have a bbl

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You will need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

You may or you may not be a good candidate for a BBL.
Likewise, plastic surgeons may or may not be willing to do the procedure based on your past medical history.
The best way to find out is to have in person consultations to get a quality assessment, and a better understanding of each provider feels about doing the procedure on you.
I’m guessing some plastic surgeons will probably want medical clearance from a hematologist.
Some providers may say no and you may not be a good candidate for the procedure in the first place.
Without pictures we can’t really make an assessment.
The chance of having a sickle cell crisis Being a heterozygote would be pretty unusual.
I recommend patients always schedule multiple in person consultations before considering having surgery so my best recommendation is to schedule consultations with providers in your community who have a lot of experience with this procedure.
