Is alarplasty safe on local anaesthetic?

How likely is blood going back of the throat? I am unsure whether to do an alaplasty under local anaesthetic, local anaesthetic with sedation. Is general anaesthetic required to keep me safe?

Can Alarplasty be done under local anesthesia? Alarplasty is commonly done under local anesthesia. There should be minimal blood loss and it should be very easy to avoid any dripping to the back of your throat. But if you are awake and any blood does drip to the back of your throat you could easily swallow or clear your throat.

Hi Zoe, thank you for the question. Local anaesthetic agent infiltration would cause irregularity so the surgeon's plan may confused. Anatomy may change.
