Should I get 150cc or 200cc to get a B cup?

Question

My surgery is in 3 days and I’m panicking that I chose a too big size for my liking. I’ve gone for 200cc moderate plus profile under muscle. I k now that’s really small to a lot of people but I’m a 28aa, 47kg. My goal is for a low B size, similar to that of a model. I’ve contacted many others who have had 200cc and are the same band size as me and they’re results where a lot bigger then what I want. I’m thinking I should have got for 150cc but I don’t think I have enough time to try it change

Patients often think in terms of cup size when considering augmentation. Unfortunately, devices are sized in terms of milliliters (cc) of volume. This can lead to some confusion when sizing. Additionally, it is important to remember that cup size itself is not standardized with variations from one manufacturer to another. Unfortunately, as many women can attest their cup size in an industry leader such as VS is not necessarily transferable to another brand.
Another point which is often under appreciated is that of anatomy and starting point. Any implant will add volume to the volume which is already present. The implant is additive. A particular volume will not necessarily confer the same cup size to different patients (often times it will not even confer the same cup size to different breasts in the same individual...remember they are "sisters" not "twins"). 
A general rule of thumb is that 125cc can represent somewhere between 1/2 to a full cup size increase. Smaller volume differentials (25-50cc) are typically less consequential representing a volume change of less than a shot glass. However, I have found these numbers, at least anecdotally, to be of little help. Patients often present with notions/goals which do not correlate with these sorts of sterile volumetric assessments.
When sizing patients, there are a number of useful tools including:
-3D imaging (has the added benefit of offering a volumetric analysis of the pre-operative breast)
-Breast sizers (rice bags)
-Goal photos
I also recommend that patients commit to a particular look rather than a cup size. Once a patient settles on a look that pleases them the overall cup size increase becomes less relevant.
With regards to your particular question, I would not stress over small differentials in volume. 50 ml is slightly greater than the volume of a shot glass. If 200 ml is too large it is very likely that 150 ml would have felt large as well. Most patients will need a volume differential of 100 ml + in order to truly appreciate a volume difference. I will typically order sizes flanking a patient's chosen volume to allow for a day of procedure change of plans.

The difference between the two sizes is about the volume of a shot glass. Implant size discussion and implant selection is one of the most important steps during your consultation with plastic surgeon. The decision-making process depends on patient’s desires, as well as breast and soft tissue dimensions.

200cc size implant will likely give you a low B cup cleavage that you desire.
150cc size implant is considered much smaller.
 
I would encourage you to seek a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to further discuss your options, specific techniques, concerns and expectations.

This is a great question and one that is best discussed with your surgeon. My suggestion would be to call the clinic and voice your concerns to see how they can best accommodate you. Letter scales are not an accurate depiction of breast size, but if there's another opportunity for a sizing appointment, make sure to bring your own clothing so you can see how you will fill out your existing bras, bathing suits and tops. Sizers aren't 100% accurate but they can give us a nice idea. Then, trust your surgeon has done all of their measurements correctly. A board certified, experienced plastic surgeon will want to give you the result you're looking to achieve.

Both implants are small and will give you about a cup increase in size. I might suggest asking for 175 cc's and split the difference between the two. Call your surgeon's office today. Implants can be sent overnight.

I encourage you to return to your surgeon to discuss your concerns.  Many have sample implants available that you can "try on" to give you an idea of how you may look after surgery.  Either implant you are considering is conservative.  One may fit the breast space better than the other.  I like to use sizers during surgery to help my patients achieve the look they are wanting.
