Should I feel filler and should above my lip, between my nose be swollen? I had 1ml Teoxane filler yesterday the lady who done my filler is a registered nurse. The swelling is a concern for me right now. My top lip Is sticking out and over my bottom lip, and also is swollen between my top lip and nose area making me look like I have another lip on top of another lip. I can also feel little bumps, which I was told would soften in a weeks time. More filler was injected into my top lip than the bottom, I don’t want to end up with my top lip sticking out and over.
Answer: Should My Top Lip Appear Bigger Than My Bottom Lip? Your bottom lip should always be larger than your top lip. That is the aesthetic answer.Obviously, an in person exam would be the most useful. However, that being said, the one thing I caution you against is to put any more filler in your lower lip to balance the upper lip. It will look even worse.Injections in the lip are mostly artistic, and therefore Board Certified plastic surgeons in general have a more artistic eye, and therefore you have a better chance of an aesthetic outcome. It is not a good idea to have people experiment on you, therefore I recommend you find a Board Certified plastic surgeon with lots of experience with injectibles to help you with your recovery and all future injectibles.

Answer: Swelling after lip fillers Swelling can be typical and may be asymmetrical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps!

Answer: Swelling & Lumps after Lip Augmentation with Fillers (Teoxane) -- Proper Lip Ratio, Firm Pressure on Lips, See an Expert Hi Chels, the ideal ratio for lips is 1/3 upper lip, 2/3 bottom lip. That being said, there can be some asymmetrical swelling and/or lumps after lip injections, which can last for 1 to 2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 minutes a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. Technique is really important when working with the lips, so always be sure to see someone meticulous. If you're still unhappy after 2 weeks, I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to resolve the issue. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Right now this looks like a lip shelf. The lower lip should always be stronger than the upper lip. Filler services are not commodity services. You are being sculpted by the injector. Some injectors are great. Others are not so great. I personally to not like the filler you received. Teoxane is a runny filler in my opinion and it seems to have more swelling than other products. My preferred product for this application is Restylane. Let this service settle for 1 week. If it is still not right, it will need to be modified or removed. I suspect your nurse injector will not really be able to help you with this.

Answer: Should my top lip appear bigger than my bottom lip? Hi chelsxx,The swelling is uncomfortable and may look excessive but unless there is blanching or magenta-colored discoloration, you are fine. The amount of swelling can be substantial yet you can end up with beautiful results. Follow your post-op instructions. expect the swelling and bumpiness to subside within a week or two. Go for a treatment follow-up within 15 days so your Injector can check the progress. All the best,
