Iv seen my surgeon he wasn't too concerned but now the discharge from my scar has changed from yellow to a clearer watery like yellow now its sore and red around the area too ...

The fleur de lis abdominoplasty will commonly have difficulty healing at the site of the T junction. This will take longer to heal but does eventually. Keep the area clean and follow your plastic surgeons recommendations for wound care and it should improve slowly.

Odds are that your surgeon is correct and that you're doing better than you think, but better to be safe than sorry. Close and frequent follow-up at your surgeon's office is best. Good. luck!

Soreness and redness and drainage can all be associated with infection. Make sure you see your operating surgeon so he or she can properly examine and evaluate and treat you if necessary. Good luck!

Most often the drainage is not pus.  It is still something that needs to be followed very closely by the surgeon. Clear yellow drainage is better than thick opaque drainage.

My best advice would be to be in contact with your surgeon about this.  Drainage, in and of itself, is not generally a huge concern, but redness and soreness could be signs of infection.  Infection is generally treatable, and less likely to cause lasting problems if addressed early.Especially if this has changed (more redness, redness spread further from the scar, increasing pain or soreness) since you saw the surgeon, give them another call to discuss it and/or arrange to be seen.

It is rather common to have some wound healing issues around the T-part of your scar.  The drainage tends to be clear or yellow and not very concerning.  They will heal with good wound care.  If it hurts or redness spreads, then I would follow up again with your surgeon.  Good luck.
