Why do some people need to tape their nose after rhinoplasty? What needs to happen that will lead to taping nose after surgery?

From what I've heard some patients need to tape the noses after rhinoplasty in order for nose to heel the right way and not to lean to the side.

Thank you for your question and images. I can see a very minor contour change in the corner of your right eye on the frontal view. If this is a concern to you then I would continue to discuss it with your rhinoplasty surgeon. Overall it looks like you have had a nice result and not infrequently...

Hi and thanks for your question.  Noses don't grow as we age, but noses that have weak support do droop due to the force of gravity.

You don't appear to have a lack of masculinity in the face.  As far as the nose--straightening it, decreasing the size of the tip, and decreasing the projection (prominence of the tip from the face) would likely be beneficial.  Perhaps if anything for masculinity in the nose, you could...

It take around 6 weeks for the nasal bones and cartilage to set after a rhinoplasty.  At that time, the nose is fairly strong but direct trauma could affect the area.  At 6 months after surgery, the nose is stable and there should be little concern about water skiing or wake boarding....
