I have horizontal lines on bridge of my nose between my eyes. I couldn't get my them to show up on camera so I drew black lines right where the 3 horizontal lines are. Also have a vertical line in the glabella, not an "11" more like a "1." They are clearly caused by facial expression as they are super pronounced when scowling, but my concern is that since they are now present without facial movements, botox won't help. Can botox fix movement lines that have become permanent when face is at rest?
Answer: Facial lines Great question, These lines I tackle with two staged process. First start doing botox in the area to prevent these lines from getting deeper and then if after few rounds of botox they don't get smoothened out then fillers will do the trick. But the key is regular botox before the muscle action returns.

Answer: Botox for lines between the eyebrows and bridge of nose. Yes Botox can help. Although Botox is best at treating dynamic lines (lines present during expression), it is possible for Botox to soften static lines (lines present at rest). I would start with an adequate Botox treatment of the entire glabella complex (treating the glabella, procerus, corragators and nasalis muscles), then reevaluate after a couple weeks. If the lines are still present, you can consider a gentle to moderate laser resurfacing procedure that will help smooth out those lines and stimulate collagen such as Scitons micro laser peel or a Lumines C02 Active FX. Hope this helps.

Answer: Facial Rejuvenation -- PRP/Microneedling, Laser (Fraxel/Clear+Brilliant, Erbium/Co2), Botox, Intensif, Salt Facial Botox doesnt help fine lines. This needs textural improvement with facials, microneedling/PRP, lasers long term. Even small amounts of smooth fillers. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Botox For Dynamic Wrinkles; Fillers For Static, "Etched-In" Lines Here's the rule. Botox (as well as the other neuromodulators, Dysport and Xeomin) are used to treat hyperkinetic expression muscle actions (i.e. overactive facial muscle movements), and expression muscles that are in a state of static tension (contraction at rest). Simple fillers, on the other hand, like ordinary Restylane, Juvederm and Belotero, are used for static lines (that have developed, like carved-in creases in the skin after years of moving the muscles of facial expression (like those controlling the "frown" or "scowl" lines between the eyebrows). So, to your question, Botox will work to prevent further creasing of the skin and smooth the skin IF there is also static tension present that it can relax. Fillers will help to smooth the lines that have already been carved into the skin. Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and be certain to ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to any treatment. Best of luck.

Answer: Botox Dear sarah1180,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am.
