Thanks to all who have commented so far. I have gotten on line to try and find specialists but I only find results for surgeons who do the surgery, nothing is mentioned about them being a Specialist on this subject or revision specialist. I know you all dont do this to get buisness but do any of you specialize in my situation? If you would rather not I understand. Is there a website that has specialists in the U.S. on it? I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible. thank you 4 ur help

Answer: Gynecomastia Revision Specialist You are wise to look for an experienced gynecomastia specialist, revision surgery takes great expertise. 40% of my gynecomastia cases are revisions where other surgeons did the original surgery. Revision is more complex as there is scar tissue formed from the original surgery. I have been performing gynecomastia surgery since 1989, and I offer complimentary consultations by phone or Skype for out of town patients.

Answer: Gynecomastia I'm sorry you have had a less than ideal result. Do not lose faith, there are plastic surgeons who can help. Since you don't mention the soeciifc issues, I will provide an overview of the most common concerns and some means for correcting unfavorable results. When patients who have previously undergone gynecomastia surgery and felt that their results were not ideal, and seek an improvement of their chest area appearance. The most frequently encountered problems are the following: Liposuction only was performed, leaving behind a mass of breast tissue behind the areola.Over-resection of breast tissue behind the areola resulting in nipple retraction, areolar indentation/depression, or chest area surface irregularities.A deflated appearance from excessive tissue removal.Unfavorable scarring from skin excision procedures. It is obviously a very difficult and frustrating experience for a man to seek surgical improvement of a problem area that keeps them from being comfortable without a shirt on, and to end up with a post-surgical problem that leaves them with the same situation. The good news is that essentially all unfavorable results from prior gynecomastia surgery can be improved with careful preoperative evaluation and re-operative treatment planning. The improvement of unfavorable results may require any number of surgical techniques including additional adipose and/or breast tissue removal, replacement of tissue using structural fat grafting and/or dermal-fat grafts, revision of scars, and removal of excess skin. While in some cases there are inherent limitations to the degree of improvement that is possible, most problems can be improved dramatically and some can be completely corrected. It is not absolutely necessary, but if possible, please try to have a copy of your operative reports and perhaps even photos from before and after the surgery to share with the plastic surgeon you select for your revision surgery.

Answer: I'm not sure that there is such a thing. Most surgeons do a fairly broad range of surgical procedures. Although gynecomastia is a frequent problem, most of us like to have a full 12 hour OR day full of patients. There just aren't enough gynecomastia patients to do that. Thus, if you find someone that just does gynecomastia patient surgery and no other surgery, either something unusual is going on with the distribution of those patients in the surgeons area, or they aren't having busy OR days. Therefore, find a board certified plastic surgeon who has good experience in treating gynecomastia and go in for a consultation. Ask them if this is something that they treat frequently. If so, then listen to their recommendations and go with that. You don't need a "specialist" in gynecomastia to have a wonderful outcome. An experienced board certified plastic surgeon who you have confidence in is all you need. You can find them in your area by going to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons websites on google.Best of luck.
