Does prp use the blood portion or the yellow/clear ?

PRP is plasma containing platelets that are concentrated to various degrees based on the type of centrifuge used. It's devoid of white and red blood cells.Some PRP are blood tinged like when a Magellan PRP machine is used since it has some red blood in the final product. A lot of the other devices will produce PRP and or PPP and the plasma portion is yellow.

The PRP procedure involves drawing your blood, spinning it down with a centrifuge, and then taking the "straw" colored portion and either injecting that into the face or working it into the skin with microneedling. If you are on a medication that alters the time it takes for your blood to coagulate, I would recommend waiting until after you are off of this medication to do the procedure. The other option would be to check with your managing provider to ensure you are able to have the procedure.
