Is there an issue with my silicone gel implant post op 10 years?

I had silicone gel implants 10 years ago with no issues. More recently it looks like my left boob as drooped slightly however not that noticeable. But I have severe discomfort every month now with heavy sore feeling which is all round the left side and under and behind nipple. Feels like I am full of milk post pregnancy to describe pain and discomfort best way. I appreciate this is potential hormonal as appears more swollen an sore every month. However was never an issue before.

Thank you for the question. It does sound as if this "pain" is hormonal. Hormones do change frequently. I would recommend follow up with your OBGYN, possible ultrasound could be performed ot assess for cysts.

If you have a change in your breast shape in association with pain, I would recommend you have this investigated with imaging, either an ultrasound scan or MRI. The imaging will help determine the state of your implants and/or reveal any other issues in the breast. Consult with a GMC-recognised Plastic Surgeon and he/she can assess you.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems.  It can either be your own breast tissues that are causing the pain and shape change or the implants.  It is important that you get your breasts checked out by a doctor soon.  They may organise an ultrasound scan which could help find the cause of your problems.  Best wishes
