I have short acrylic nails. Do I need to have them removed? Having mommy makeover

Mommy makeovers, like all general surgical procedures, require modern pulse oximeters to measure one's oxygen level in the blood as well as an ongoing picture of your heartbeats.  Short acrylic nails do not create a problem unless the color of your nails is very dark, such as dark blue or black.  This sometimes creates a problem that can be obviated by either putting the oximeter on your little finger or your toes.  



Therefore, the short answer is NO, short acrylic nails do not have to be removed with a Mommy Makeover if done in a certified surgery center or hospital and they will not interfere with your surgery.

 In most instances you need not remove your nails as the instruments used during surgery to monitor your oxygen readings can be applied to another part of your body.  This question is best answered by your surgeon and the anesthesia department.
