Yellow discharge from crease area after a thigh lift and rotten smell

Question

3 weeks ago I had a 360 lower body lift and a thigh lift. 2 weeks ago my right thigh swelled and hurt. My PS said it is a superficial blood clot that needs warm cloths, ibuprofen and compression. My 2 thigh's drains were put a week post op. 5 days ago I noticed yellow discharge on the crease incision's tape. I called in they said its normal. Yesterday morning it started smelling a really rotten bad smell. Is it normal? Keep in mind I took 2 rounds of antibiotics. I am worried now! Thank you

Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment, advice, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally, it is very common for patients to notice a "really rotten" smell when fluid  accumulates underneath tapes use along incision lines.  Although the underlying incisions may seem irritated once the tapes are removed, the smell quickly dissipates once the tapes have been moved.  I would suggest that you seek follow-up with your plastic surgeon, earlier than already scheduled, if necessary. Best wishes.
