Can you have laser lipo on your abdomen if you have an ileostomy?

The short answer is yes but you likely will not find a surgeon who is excited about it.  The issue is that the ileostomy is a very important fragile structure that must be protected.  This means that a good distance has to be maintained from the ostomy during the procedure and the results will be limited.

Thanks for your inquiry.  If you have adipose deposits on the abdominal wall then you may still be a candidate for liposuction.  There are ways that the stoma output can be contained during surgery so as not to contaminate the operative site and the incisions.  It is unlikely that the practitioner would lipo very close to the ostomy to protect the bowel passing through the abdominal wall to the skin, especially considering the heat generated with laser lipo.  It will be critical however to make certain that you don't have any hernias from your prior surgery.  Consider a formal consultation with an experienced, certified plastic surgeon, and best of luck.
