Thank you for your question in regards to vein removal. Hard lumps are common after varicose vein treatments and typically will resolve on their own over the course of 6-8 weeks. If not, they may need to be drained. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Not sure what method was used for varicose vein treatment in your case; however, I recommend you to do a follow up with your vein specialist if you are concern or if you experience abnormal symptoms or signs. Likelihood of bruising and pain are reduced with minimally invasive approach for treatment, and most patients report limited to no scarring, bruising, or swelling following minimally invasive procedures for vein treatment/ removal. Best,
Thank you for your question. It is not made clear if you had vein stripping or micrphlebectomy. Nevertheless, it is easy to do a venous Doppler ultrasound where this could be imaged with B mode and Doppler interrogation and drained via incision. Its unclear what method was used for your vein removal, but agree with my other colleagues that if an incision was involved it most likely represents a combination of a hematoma and the normal inflammatory response especially in the time frame that you have stated. Rest assured that this is temporary and will improve, but would suggest contacting your provider if there are any signs of warmth, increasing redness, or discharge. Good luck.
It is completely normal to feel hard lumps over the incisions where varicose veins were removed. Sometimes these are small hematomas or remnants of the varicose vein and sometimes it is just inflammation from the local trauma of removing the vein. Be assured that they will continue to decrease over the next 4-6 weeks and should be completely resolved in 6-8 weeks.
It is normal for incisions to get hard after surgery and then over about 6 weeks they will soften. From your question there is not enough info to comment any further.
You need to use some adjunctive measures after sclerotherapy to reduce post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. it is those that don't follow such instructions immediately following sclerotherapy, starting on day1 (next day) that seem to get retained hyperpigmentation. I recommend 2 creams:...

Consider first a full venous reflux evaluation with a vein specialist to determine if an underlying venous insufficiency is present in your lower extremities. Healthy leg veins contain valves that open and close to help the blood return back to the heart. Using ultrasound to...
