Can I use rhinoplasty as an excuse that I can't breathe properly?

In many cases, I've noticed our patients use this excuse so they don't have to discuss the details of their surgery with those around them.  

I'm  sure patients do this all the time.  Jennifer Anniston did that when she had a rhinoplasty.  It's actually true that in some cases  external changes may be necessary to achieve improvement in breathing.  Good luck! 

Yes, you can use that excuse with your social acquaintances and friends. Medical insurance will not pay for cosmetic rhinoplasty, therefore be prepared to pay for the procedure yourself. Functional breathing surgery in the back of the nose can be submitted to medical insurance once medical necessity and pre-authorization has been accomplished with your medical insurance company.
